Choosing a room also means choosing how your guests will experience the day. Start with the ceremony, dinner and evening programme, then compare the spaces with the hotel.
Le Salon de Famille
A 100 m² first-floor space to compare for a smaller gathering or as part of a celebration using several salons. Your guest count and proposed layout matter more than the room name alone.
La Salle à Manger
Also on the first floor, this 100 m² room offers another configuration for your reception. Review the table plan and service routes with the team rather than assuming every layout seats the same number.
Salon Roland Bonaparte and Foyer
The hotel lists this second-floor space at 250 m². It also features in my two-day wedding reportage: the celebration moved from the upper event level to the historic reception salons later in the day.

A real wedding at Shangri-La Paris
At this wedding, approximately 120 guests gathered at Shangri-La Paris. The celebration moved from the upper event level into the historic salons, with floral arrangements, carefully set tables, live performances and an evening reception.
I worked with a photography assistant and two additional photographers. That arrangement helped cover parallel moments as the event moved between spaces. The public selection focuses on the setting, details and atmosphere because the couple asked for identifiable photographs to remain private.

A smaller ceremony with an Eiffel Tower view

Planning your
Shangri-La wedding budget.
A useful budget starts with an itemised hotel proposal for your date and guest count. A menu price alone does not describe the full cost of a wedding.
The hotel proposal
Ask the hotel to separate the spaces reserved, hours of use, food, drinks, any minimum spend and accommodation. Clarify taxes, service, setup and breakdown time, and charges for extending the event. Ask which items are included, optional or quoted separately.
Your creative team
Build a separate allowance for planning, flowers, styling, photography, film, entertainment, lighting and sound. An intimate ceremony and a reception with performances have different production needs, even at the same address.
Rooms and guest arrangements
Distinguish your suite from guest accommodation. If a terrace view is central to the celebration or portraits, ask for the exact room or event space to be named in the proposal. Include any welcome gathering, transfers and additional day in the overall plan.
Compare the same scope
When comparing proposals, use the same guest count, spaces and duration. Ask what happens if attendance changes, which payments are due when, and what indoor arrangement is available if an outdoor part cannot proceed.

Plan the Eiffel Tower view precisely
The terrace photographs in my reports came from specific celebrations with agreed access. They do not mean that every hotel room or wedding booking includes that view. Confirm the exact suite or terrace, how many people it can accommodate and whether it is approved for your ceremony, portraits or both.
I would build the portrait route around the spaces you have booked, then assess the daylight and weather. A terrace sequence and portraits on the staircase need their own place in the schedule.
Prepare an indoor alternative
Choose the backup room with the hotel before the day and confirm its layout. A rain plan must work for guests, seating, flowers and sound as well as photographs. Inside the palace, the staircase, architectural details and reception rooms offer different settings when access allows.
The dinner photographs in my reports also show how candlelight and event lighting change the rooms. I adapt the photography as the celebration moves into the evening.
Allow for room changes
For a celebration spread across floors or salons, account for guests arriving, moving to the ceremony, gathering for family photographs and taking their seats for dinner. Ask who manages each transition and when suppliers can prepare the next space.

Keep the photographs within the celebration
Agree on a short list of family groups and a realistic portrait window before the wedding. I coordinate that sequence with the couple, planner and venue team so it fits around the guests and reception.

How many guests can Shangri-La Paris accommodate for a wedding?
The hotel publishes capacities by room and layout. For example, Le Grand Salon is listed for 110 in banquet layout, while Salon Roland Bonaparte and Foyer is listed for 200. These are event specifications, not a confirmed wedding capacity. Ask the hotel to approve your seating, ceremony aisle, dance floor and production requirements together.
How much does a wedding at Shangri-La Paris cost?
The total depends on your date, guest count, reserved spaces, catering, drinks, accommodation and suppliers. Request an itemised hotel proposal and budget separately for planning, flowers, entertainment, photography and film. A menu price or a published package is not necessarily the complete cost of your celebration.
Does every wedding booking include an Eiffel Tower terrace?
No specific terrace or view should be assumed. Confirm the exact suite or event space with the hotel, including permitted use, guest numbers, photography access and the indoor alternative if weather changes the plan.
Can we plan an intimate wedding instead of a large reception?
My intimate elopement reportage shows a private terrace ceremony followed by palace portraits. It illustrates one smaller celebration, not a standard hotel package. Discuss your own guest count and preferred format with the hotel before agreeing the spaces.
How should we plan the ceremony, dinner and evening reception?
Confirm which room hosts each part of the day, how guests move between them and when suppliers can set up. Include family photographs, portrait time and room transitions in the schedule. For an outdoor element, agree an indoor arrangement in advance.
